Please complete this survey if you are a conservation or cultural heritage educator. Your feedback on inclusion of sustainability topics and discussion in your programs is greatly appreciated! Deadline for completion is October 3rd.
We invite you to participate in our survey for the Embedding Sustainability in Cultural Heritage Conservation Education project, an NEH grant for the initial assessment and development of sustainability curricula for the UCLA/Getty Interdepartmental Program in the Conservation of Cultural Heritage. The research reveals the need for more rigorously produced publications, curricular materials and exercises where students and professionals can learn firsthand tools for embedding sustainability into their conservation decision making. The curricular materials that will be widely disseminated at the culmination of the initiative include teaching tools, case studies, exercises, bibliographies, and research topics to build on. This platform will be open access for any cultural heritage program to download.
For this brief survey, we are interested in the current teaching practices at your institution on the subject of sustainability in its many facets: environmental, economic, social, and cultural. There are 7 multiple choice questions about your curriculum (with prompts for optional freeform commentary) and 5 demographic questions that are optional and based on your institutional (not personal) information. Any additional comments you can provide will greatly inform on the research. The survey should take about 5-15 minutes. We appreciate your interest and the time taken to complete the survey to whatever degree possible.
